About Macomb, IL - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Macomb, Illinois is the seat of McDonough County. It is found in the western portion of the state just southwest of Galesburg and about 75 miles from Peoria. As of 2014, about 21,500 people resided here, some of whom attend local Western Illinois University and Spoon River College. The city mixes education, industry, and agriculture, and manufacturing employment is plentiful at Pella Windows, Mayhem Graphix, and Whalen Manufacturing. Macomb is also known as a regional center for senior living and health care facilities.

Macomb is a lively city with plenty of things to do. There are many events held throughout the year, including the Macomb Balloon Rally, Macomb Heritage Days, the Festival of Trees, and the Al Sears Jazz Festival. Theatrical performances are held at Macomb Community Theater and the Starry Night Repertory Theatre, and visitors may like to take a tour through The Bailey House or the Geology Museum. Other popular destinations include Spring Lake Park, which is great place to camp for the weekend, Rialto Cinemas, and the Ball Fore Family Entertainment Center.

Macomb is known for its mid-latitude weather, and this includes cold, snowy winters. Average temperatures in January reach highs of about 34 degrees Fahrenheit, while average lows fall to around 18 degrees. Snowfall accumulation totals reach about 21 inches each year, and freezing rain is also a possibility. Not only is a gas or electric furnace a necessity to keep indoor conditions warm throughout the season, but these systems will also prevent pipes and plumbing from freezing.

Summer weather in Macomb offers different extremes from wintertime conditions. Temperatures are high with daily highs reaching well into the 80s. Humidity levels are also excessive at times, making the weather feel even more uncomfortable. Macomb residents often invest in central air conditioning to stay comfortable at home, as these systems offer superior cooling and safety when compared to window units.
